Pricing: 6 classes | $290 plus HST

Scent detection is one of the fastest growing dog sports. The classes focus on using your dogs’ natural ability to hunt. Teamwork makes this a fun activity for you and your dog. Although there will be multiple teams in the class, only one team searches at a time. Thus, it is well suited for dogs of all breeds, age and personalities. Scent work requires a lot of concentration which is why dogs get tired more easily. Owners will bond with their dog, become more aware of their dogs’ body language and state of mind. Small changes in tail position, body arching and various movements can be signs of a dog that has found a scent. As long as your dog loves to use their nose to sniff and you like to interact with your dog you will both enjoy these classes. While in class, dogs are kept on their non-retractable leash and take turns locating a scent. Level 1 class uses scent of Wintergreen.

Once you have completed the scent detection classes you can choose to continue on to compete in the SDDA (Scent Detection Dog Association) detection trials. Our scent classes are also geared towards helping you prepare for these and follow the recommended SDDA DOTs (Designated Odour Tests).
